Description

List all video IDs from a YouTube channel including shorts and live streams

How to Use

1

1. Pass a channel ID, @handle, or channel URL in the `id` query parameter.

2

2. The API returns three arrays: `videoIds` for regular uploads, `shortIds` for YouTube Shorts, and `liveIds` for live stream recordings.

3

3. Use the returned IDs to make follow-up requests to the video, transcript, or batch transcript endpoints.

4

4. Filter by content type based on which array the IDs appear in.

About This Tool

The YouTube Channel Videos endpoint returns all video IDs from a YouTube channel, separated into regular videos, Shorts, and live streams. This gives you a complete inventory of a channel's content without fetching full metadata for each video.

Use this as a discovery step before making targeted requests to the video metadata or transcript endpoints. It's particularly useful for building pipelines that process an entire channel's content library.

The response categorises content into `videoIds`, `shortIds`, and `liveIds`, making it easy to filter by content type.

Frequently Asked Questions

How many video IDs are returned?
All publicly listed video IDs for the channel are returned. For channels with thousands of videos, the response may be large but is not paginated.
Does this include unlisted videos?
No. Only publicly listed videos appear in the results. Unlisted and private videos are not included.
What's the difference between videoIds, shortIds, and liveIds?
`videoIds` contains standard uploaded videos. `shortIds` contains YouTube Shorts (vertical videos under 60 seconds). `liveIds` contains recordings of live streams. A video appears in only one category.
